Overcoming the skills crisis in the local construction industry
We have recently become part of the Plymouth Council led ‘Building Plymouth’ partnership. This partnership is a mix of collaboration and financial investment, resulting in an increased availability of construction skills to meet local employers needs. This, in turn, creates jobs, apprenticeships and career opportunities for people living in Plymouth.
Our CEO Connor talked recently to the Plymouth Herald about Truvision becoming a sponsor for the partnership, saying that,
“Truvision has come on board as a sponsor of Building Plymouth to help showcase the future of Digital Construction in the south west. This area of the built environment is so powerful in the construction of any building and our goal is to help bring young talent into the industry with a different range of skills.”
We are thoroughly looking forward to being part of the Building Plymouth initiative to help overcome the challenges that currently face the construction and built environment sector and to help provide jobs and careers for the residents of Plymouth.
We will be working with AECOM, City College Plymouth, CITB, Constructing Excellence, Gilpin Demolition, Kier, Midas, mi-space, Millfields Trust, Morgan Sindall, National Careers Service, Plymouth City Council, Plymouth College Of Art, Plymouth Community Homes, Plymouth Construction Training Group, Redrow, Ryearch, Skills Group, South Devon College, Stride Treglown, SWH Group, TClarke, Ward Williams Associates, Willmott Dixon and YGS Landscapes.
