A private client needed a way of understanding the space and feel of a design for a new home they had commissioned. The new house featured an upside-down layout, swimming pool and hidden garden area complete with hot tub.
Taken from an architectural design created in SketchUp, the Modern Country House is a virtual reality project created for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. It includes a fully furnished interior with interchangeable finishes and furniture in the kitchen, an animated roaring fire, a swimming pool and hot tub with atmospheric colour changing lights and ambient sound effects. It also features the ability to change between daytime and nighttime, showing the effect of lighting at different times on the property.
The client was amazed with how the project allowed them to visualise the property and grasp the sense of scale which couldn't be achieve by seeing the design on a flat computer screen. The project has since become TruVision's signature piece, being shown at tradeshows, events and other client meetings.
