As part of the Vision London 2016 exhibition at the Kensington Olympia, TruVision were asked to create a central feature stand to wow visitors from the construction industry, showcasing the incredible power of virtual reality to immerse users into a building design.
We created a virtual reality experience of London's iconic skyscraper, The Shard, for the Oculus Rift. When the user puts on the headset, they're taken on a journey which begins outside at the base of The Shard. From here, they can look up at the building itself, taking in the sheer scale before continuing inside, into the lobby and up to an example of one of the many multi-million pound apartments inside. The apartment is completed by a breathtaking view over the London skyline, where the user can take in the sights of St Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye and even Canary Wharf in the distance.
Visitors to the stand at Vision were blown away by the experience they had, commenting on the visual quality of the project and the headset itself, and more importantly, the vast amount of opportunities they could foresee for the use of virtual reality in the construction industry.
